Our Story

A House of Light

For much of my life, I thought I was searching for who I was.

What I eventually discovered was that I already knew.

I simply needed to find my way back.

Back to the things that had always mattered. Back to the traditions, rhythms, and simple ways of living that had quietly shaped me from the beginning.

I was raised in a home where natural remedies, home-cooked meals, gardening, and caring for one another were simply a part of everyday life. Those lessons stayed with me, even as the years became filled with work, motherhood, responsibilities, and the busyness of modern life.

Somewhere along the way, I drifted from the things that once felt most like me.

Not all at once, but little by little.

Then, through friendship, conversation, faith, and a longing for something deeper, I began finding my way back.

Back to growing food.

Back to learning from the generations that came before me.

Back to gathering around the table.

Back to slowing down.

Back to living with greater intention.

House of Noor grew from that journey.

Noor means light, and to me, House of Noor is a reflection of the life I hope to build and the legacy I hope to leave behind.

Not a perfect life.

Not a life where I have all the answers.

But a life rooted in faith, family, tradition, meaningful work, and the simple things that often matter most.

The symbols woven throughout House of Noor each tell part of that story.

The lantern represents light, warmth, and guidance.

The willow represents resilience, the ability to bend through life's storms without losing your roots.

The wren reminds me that home is not found in a place, but in the things we carry with us: family, faith, purpose, and the courage to begin again.

Today, my husband has become part of that vision as well, crafting many of our wooden goods by hand and helping bring this dream to life.

Together, we are building something rooted in family, tradition, and intentional living.

I do not claim to be an expert.

I am learning, growing, and rediscovering these traditions alongside you.

What I share here are the lessons I have learned, the wisdom passed down to me, and the things I continue to discover along the way.

My hope is not simply to leave something behind for my children and grandchildren.

My hope is to leave them knowledge.

How to grow food.

How to preserve the harvest.

How to work with their hands.

How to gather around the table.

How to care for one another.

How to stay connected to the land, to family, and to the Creator.

If something I create, teach, or share helps another person slow down, reconnect, or find beauty in the simple things, then House of Noor has fulfilled its purpose.

Welcome to the House of Noor.
